Shell Eco-marathon #1

Eight students studying industrial design on the 3. year at Østfold University College, has since August 2008 developede a new car to race in the Shell Eco Marathon. Victor Rosenvinge at Eker Design has been the mentor for the students during this process, and Eker Design has even been involved in the CAD work and milling of the tools for the main shape of the car body. The final result were unveiled 28th of April 2009 at Aker Brygge in Oslo.
Even the norwegian television TV2 were interested in this project, and interviewed the students after the unveiling.

The eight students from Østfold University College, wich Eker Design sponsored both in the development process and the physical modelling, are now at The EuroSpeedway Lausitz in Germany. The race are to begin, and the students did the qualifying rounds with good margin.

The competition is over for the eight students from Østfold University College, but they did not come home empty-handed. They won the prestigious Design Award, for combineing aesthetic elegance, aerodynamic efficiency and excellent engineering. In the last race they also drove longer on one liter of fuel than any other car from their university has done before, regardless of class.
