Winner of the Publicity Award 2010
Bård Eker, as the winner of this years Publicity award, have achieved a locally, national and international carriere as an industrial developer. He is unconventional, colorful, daring and open for the now and future - whatever may come. He is a good ambassador for his hometown, where he always find oportunities to promote his hometown and the very competente industrial environment on his travels and in his work. Bård Eker is a great inspiring rolemodell for the young, where he - with his talent and "go getter" attitude - always tries and often succeed with passing on the 150 years of industrial traditions.
Norwegian Car Design Exhibition
Eker design supports the exhibition Norwegian Car Design. The exhibition covering car design by norwegian designers opens 23rd of november. Eker is one of many designers at the exhibition that has been examinated from the Institute of industrial design, amongst others like Thinkdesigners Kathinka Von der Lippe, Stig Olav Skeie and Buddy-designer Jo espen Bjerk. The exhibition has been sponsored by Eker design, and is being held at the gallery AHO from 24th of november untill 8th of december. The official opening is on 24th of november 13.00pm, and is opend by the norwegian minister Trond Giske.

The 25th of november is to become a major milestone for Eker Design. After being the supplier of design- and engineering services for Hydrolifts new flagship for the last year - we are looking forward to the World Wide Launch in Fredrikstad.
RMM, Rapid Mold Milling
At Eker Design we always strive to cut corners to save time, and also save cost. We always use fast and beneficial methods to achieve the first prototype or the preproduction series of parts. We can now provide RMM Rapid Mold Milling by CNC machining directly in the tool itself without manufacturing the additional plug and the separate tool. This method will allow lower production volume than building a separate tool, but instead much faster and precise end result at a lower cost.

Discovery Channel filming at Eker Design.
This week we had a crew from the Discovery Channel visiting our sites - filming our unique design process - following the creation of the s-28 from the very first design brief meeting – all the way to the very first sea trial.
It was was very exiting to be in the middle of a film set and we look forward to see the end result of it sometime next year.

The winner is
After the Leadership contest held by the Nordisk Barometer and the Scandinavian bank Nordea was complete, the results showed Bård Eker / Hydrolift as this years winners.

The upcoming model S-28
Later this year Hydrolift will launch the new model S-28. Here is the first story about the upcoming model and some pictures from the production process: S-28 article (norwegian version). With theHydrolift S-28, we are introducing a concept that provides an unique and wide range of use based on smart interior and exterior solutions. Hydrolift S-28 covers everything from sun bathing, cruising, transportation, water sports, sleeping accommodations to innovative solutions for rain protection and hull protection.The S-28 has all the Trademarked driving ability that Hydrolift boats are known for. The new model is based on one of the most efficient v-hull designs in the world, that ensures high speed, safe driving and low fuel consumption. Through new thinking with regard construction and production the new model is very innovative with its use of interior modules. This gives the customer a wide range of options and possibilities to create the boat of their dreams.
The New Stokke Xplory v3
The new Xplory stroller is a result of close co-operation between Eker Design and Stokke AS, where the two company's unique knowledge within plastic materials and fabrics has been innovatively utilized. By combining this knowledge we have been able to exploit the advantages of the materials and design seamless transitions without compromising the lean production process. The complete stroller was designed with the use of our Catia 3D CAD software. Eker Design has been involved in the whole process from the concept design, construction, tooling, testing, homologation to the mass production.With focus on details, quality feel, quality control, improvement on child ergonomic and user-friendliness we have once again raised the level of premium strollers in the world. With the positive result from the pre-market tests we at Eker Design hope Stokke will continue to increase their sales numbers on the Xplory stroller worldwide.

Hydrolift SX-22
To be launched on the Boat Fair in Lillestrøm 12.-21. March 2010

Hydrolift are introducing the new SX-22, the first model from their upcoming outboard series. These models will represent their new consept, the S.U.B (Sport Utility Boat) which provides a unique and wide range of innovative interior and exterior solutions. Hydrolift SX-22 covers everything from sun bathing, water sports, fishing, diving, leisure, family trips to the professional market. As the rest of the Hydrolift family the SX-22 has a 2 stepped deep V-hull which ensures high speed, safe driving and low fuel consumption.
