Lean Process

The development of a new product is a linear process, but rather than being one continuous line with several stops or milestones, it is a linear process with several parallel lines, or time lines. The main line being Eker Design and the parallel side lines being external suppliers, toolmakers, the client, market changes etc. Click on the image above or at this link for a quick presentation.

Lean Process Design:

We design the process eliminating anything that does not add value to the product. The factory and the total process is designed to build only what is needed, and we design the process such that it stops if anything goes wrong. To reduce waste and maximize the value for the customer, we design the product and the process in parallel.

We design customer-demand pull processes. The customer need always initiate the delivery process. We use this pull process through the total value chain, ending up at the supplier. We also improve current existing processes after the concept above. This leads to dramatically improved quality and customer satisfaction with half the stock, half of the production area and less working hours in the factory or increased volume.

Lean Training:

One day Training - Lean Product Development Simulator (LPDS):
We simulate Lean Product Development with help of small model products. This training session (from 4 to 8 hours)  is the start of the company’s journey towards "Lean". The purpose is to integrate people, process and technology to reduce waste in the company, the development process and waste in the product.

One Day Training - Lean Manufacturing Simulator (LMS):
We simulate Lean Manufacturing with help of small Lego parts. This training session (4 hours) visualize in a very powerful way, what needs to be done in the factory to be a true "Lean" operation. The training speeds up the change process in the factory by involving and make the workers responsible to act according to the "Lean" way of thinking.
